Hope

"Ah there it's finally finished!" Kyle said with a smile on his face as he swept off his sweat from cleaning his house. Kyle is an average 20 year old boy who lives alone after his parents passed away a couple of months ago. Although he felt sad for the lost of the person he loved so much, he continue to let out a smile and live in a positive life as it is. Even so, he feels his life somewhat missing. Not because of the lost of his parents, but a life with a partner. Although his parents ever mention to him about it, but he didn't even take it too seriously since he wanted to have some proper salary before he could be in any relationship. Sensing that he is finally ready for it, he decided to give it a try to find the girl that is suited for him.

Day by day, after his work and chores, he goes around the place, looking for a person that he feels right. From the mall, the park, even when he was walking at the sidewalk. Somehow, he feels rather impossible for him to do it. Even his close friends tries to hook up with some of their friends who is rather single but somehow, he does not feel right inside of him. Day become months, months finally become a year and he has reach 21 years old of his life but still, he wasn't able to find the person that can open his eyes inside of him. But, in his mind, he was quite certain that one day that he will be able to find one for him, although he never actually know when but he was certain that some day that he will.

One a certain day, when he finally finish his work, he decided to take a stroll around the park area for some relaxation time. A while of walking and admiring the view of the place, he then find a place for him to take a rest. Looking around, he sees all kinds of folks going around. From children to elder folks. Seeing them makes him feel happy but sad at the same time. With a slight sigh and a smile he continues to observe them with a positive thought. His amazement were then disturb as he heard a loud roaring noise coming from a black-colored car. The sound of it even scared the flock of bird that was chirping at the trees.

"That's quite annoying somehow..." He thought as he let outs a slight sigh hearing the noise that can even burst a man's ear in a moment. He even notice that the car is speeding quite fast considering its a small street of a housing area. As he was looking, he notice there is something in the middle of the street, a small, fluffy, white-colored figured. As he looks carefully, he realized that there was a kitten playing around. His eye's widen and look at the the car heading its way. Without much hesitation, he leaves his work bag and dash towards the kitten.

"Do they even see it?!" he thought, as he then grabbed the kitten. But, on that position his in that time, he knew that he had to do something to save the kitten, even if it cost his life. Kneeling down, and place the kitten at his chest, he acts as a shield towards it. And within seconds of his moments, the speeding car slams towards his back and sends him flying towards the side of the road. The mysterious figure inside the car was shaking till his bones, and drove off from the place quickly as he can like a madman.

"Meow...?" the kitten licked his cheek.

"I-Is this the end...For me...?" He said slowly as his vision starts to become blurred before loosing his consciousness after dealing a hard blow from the back. Seconds passed and his mind went black and he was silent at the place. People at the area started to helped out and some of the people manage to drove him towards the hospital for treatment.

Time passes after the incident, he finally regain consciousness after three days of his deep slumber. Turning his head slightly towards the right and to the left, he noticed that he was sent to the hospital for some medical treatment. With a smile, he knew that his life didn't end like he thought it would be. But, it came with a price. He wasn't able to move his leg anymore. Looking at it before he lays back his head on the pillow, he lets out a slight sigh but somehow he manage to let out a smile on his face.

"I guess, it's another test for me I would say..." he said slowly as he then close his eyes to get some rest. But he was interrupted as a soft sound can be heard near his ward room door. It was the same kitten that he had save before. With the 'meowing' sound of the kitten, it walks in and jumped on top as it lays down on Kyle's chest purring. Letting out a slight laugh, he then place his hand and rubs its head gently. And as he was doing it, he notice that there is a golden-colored tag that is attached on its collar.

"Ah so that is her name...A nice one indeed..." he said slowly and continues to rubs the kitten's head gently. His eyes then started to wander around slightly as he pays attention back towards the ward door and this time is different. He noticed that there is a figure, glancing at the room towards him and the kitten. After a while, the person decided to head inside after a long time of staring at each other. It was a girl, and slightly older that Kyle is too. She was quite shy as far as he could see but he feels like what shes seeing at the moment is some cute girl inside his head. Taking off from his imagination, he then started to asked questions towards the girl,

"Are you the owner of this kitten?"
"Y-Yes I am. Thank you for saving my kitten though."
"Huh? How did you know about it?"
"Because I saw the whole thing back there. I never thought people would actually save her"
"Ah I see."
"B-But why did you anyway?"
"Because they're living being like us as well right? Their life is also precious like us too."
"W-well that's what I thought too!"
"And plus, I love animals so I do not wish to see them being harm."
"S-Same here!"

The conversation than continues on with the introduction of the girls name. Luna, the name that seems calming inside Kyle's mind. Both of them continue their conversation as the kitten happily sleeps on Kyle's chest. Starting on that day, Luna continues to visit Kyle at his ward until the time he finally able to be dispatch from the hospital after almost a month of staying inside a small room. Since Kyle wasn't able to walk anymore due to the accident, Luna is always there to support him as much as she could.

One day, after a year have passed. Both of Kyle and Luna decided to have some walk at the park. On the wheel-chair, Luna pushed it slowly and have a wonderful time talking to each other. And with sudden question, Kyle decided to ask,

"Hey Luna...Would you like, to go out with me?" She then paused, and stopped her moment at the moment. The place there somehow become quiet, not even a bird chirping at all. With a slight sight and smile Kyle then said,

"Well I suppose its a n-"
"Y-Yes...I will go out with you..."
"Eh?"
"I've been waiting for that moment...Kyle..." She said as tears of happiness started to roll down from her cheek as she then let out a smile on her face. Kyle turned his head slightly and place his right hand on her cheek to wipe the tears away. On that time he remember that it's because of what had happen to him, he ended up being with the person he finally able to care for even he wasn't able to move like he used to. And the reason all of it started is because of a small, innocent life that able to shine a light towards the both of them, a kitten with the tag that stated "Hope".
